If you don't have the space to keep the original DV clips for your video tapes you can compress them to create preview copies. That way you can have instant access to any of your video clips while having it take up a fraction of your hard drive.
FootTrack has three built-in settings for compressing your clips. For power users you can also create your own settings using any available QuickTime codec. This includes SheerVideo (lossless compression).
